Fee payments

If you are self-pay patient you will be made aware of the cost of the consultation fee at the time of your booking. This fee will cover your time spent in the consultation room or virtual consultation (video or telephone consultation), as well as time for reviewing referral details and results of investigations (e.g. radiology scans and blood test results before or after the consultation). Your fees will be chargeable by invoice prior to confirmation of the consultation booking.

If you are a patient with private medical insurance we will bill the insurance company for the consultation fees. However, you will need to contact your insurer and obtain a pre-authorisation in advance of your consultations and investigations. This will ensure that responsibility for fees or parts of fees is established in advance and insurance details are correct and up to date. If you do not have your membership number and authorisation code prior to the consultation you will need to settle the amount as a self-pay patient.  Please note that some medical insurance policies do not cover consultations and you should always check your insurance policy conditions or contact your insurer as required.

The fees for any tests (blood. physiological measurments or radiological) will be determined by the clinic or hospital where these tests are undertaken and will be charged to you or your private medical insurer, separately.

Self-pay or private medical insurance patients are responsible and liable for any unsettled invoices or fees. Unsettled invoices or fees after 3 months will be referred to a debt collection agency and the costs of recouping unsettled fees will be at liablity of the debtor.

Cancellation policy

You must give 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. If you have paid for your consultation and give at least 24 h notice your full fee will be reimbursed minus any transaction charges. If 24 hours notice is not provided to cancel and appointment the full fee will be charged and no reimbursement will be made. If charged for the consultation which is cancelled, private medical insurance patients will not be able to reclaim this from their insurer.

Video consultations

Video consultations offer the opportunity for remote consultations. This allows you to receive a medical opinion and treatment without travelling to the consulting room. During the current COVID-19 pandemic this has several benefits. I can take a detailed history, request and review results of investigations if needed, and if needed offer a treatment plan including the prescription for medication. I am however unable to examine you and you therefore understand that clinical examination findings can not be obtained through a video consultation. Video consultations are carried out securely using approved software.
